Mystery chip
Notes:This is a true mystery chip. No markings nor brands on it, only the yellow label (there is nothing under it) and a (presumable) datecode on the rear, "9431". The 5 Eurocent coin is showed because of the unusual package, to give an idea of the chip size. The glass window is unusually large. It seems to be a sort of microcontroller... Comments and/or suggestions are all welcome! /UMMR

More info....

I recommend taking a small, handheld microscope (one that can reach 100x magnification should be sufficient) and taking a peek at the die through the window.... if there's any readable part numbers/text on the die you should be able to see it with that. As for what it is, given it has what looks very much like a large EPROM area, it is most definitely some kind of microcontroller.
